Second day of blazing sunshine and now seriously high temperatures. By 3pm, the mercury stands puffing at 25C/77F. That is very high for this part of the country. The Atlantic hurricane seasons kicks off with tropical depression ONE, just west of Cuba. It doesn't carry much winds (up to force 8), but gives rainfall totals running up to 30 inches, 750 mm. Grand Cayman Island reported 22.72 inches = 577 mm in 24 hours. TD1 could trek northeast to Florida and be incorporated in the northern jetstream by the end of next week. It's very warm outside, and I soak up the sun in the backyard. Mrs B prepares a goulash supper. The 8pm ferry brings 4 guests, 2 of whom bang doors.
